STAR: Student Pollworker Program

Become a STAR Student Pollworker...you can earn up to $80 and provide a service to your community.The Los Angeles City Clerk Election Division invites you to join us in our STAR Student Pollworker Program.
What?
On Election Day Star Student Pollworkers assist in the following:
- Setting up a polling place
- Checking in voters
- Distributing ballots
- Assisting voters on using the vote recorder, if needed
- Assisting the elderly and disabled, if needed
- Directing voters to proper voting locations
How?
You can be a Star Student Pollworker if you are a High School Senior (at least 16 years old) with a 2.5 GPA and a U.S. Citizen.
To become a Star Student Pollworker, contact the City Clerk, Election Division "Pollworker Recruiting Section." A Teacher or School Official can also nominate you. For more information, please call (866) 899-8683.
Why?
There are many reasons why being a Student Pollworker makes sense...

- You can help provide a service needed in your community.
- It is an opportunity to educate yourself, friends, and family abut the Electoral process.

Are you Bilingual? WE NEED YOU!!
You can also help the community by becoming a Star Student Polloworker and assisting in a second language:
- Spanish
- Chinese
- Vietnamese
- Tagalog
- Japanese
- Korean
You can earn up to $80 for your contribution as a part of the Star Student Pollworker Program.
For Election Day service you are paid a $55 stipend. We will also pay you a bonus of $25 for attenting a short mandatory training class for approximately 2 hours. Training classes will be scheduled in your community.
This experience will be a definite plus in future jobs and will strengthen your resume.
